The original construction notes describe a process based on templates, frames, plywood panels, bulkheads, centreboard case, transom, chines, stringers and deck elements. In other words, the Nordet was not only sold as a finished boat: it was also part of a culture in which sailors could build or assemble their own dinghy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was central to its identity. The Nordet was designed not only as an object to buy, but as a boat that could be understood, built, repaired and lived with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Period sources also mention different levels of finish. The Nordet appears in at least a standard version and a more complete competition version. The latter was described as having improved fittings and buoyancy tanks, while the standard version remained simpler and more economical. This distinction reflects the boat\u2019s intended versatility: it could serve as a family dinghy, a training boat, or a more refined small racer for local regattas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later references point to a second phase in the life of the design: resin or fibreglass construction. In the comparative article \u201cTrois d\u00e9riveurs au banc d\u2019essai\u201d<\/em>, the Nordet is listed in connection with Constructions Nautiques du Sud-Ouest<\/strong> at Bon-Encontre, and the architect\u2019s note refers to a renewed version in resin. This suggests that, after its original plywood and kit-building phase, the Nordet entered a more industrial or professionally built stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this later phase was indeed connected with CNSO, it would probably place boats like Wildflower<\/a><\/em> somewhere between the 1960s and the early 1980s, when the yard was active. Until more evidence appears, she is best described as a later fibreglass Nordet, possibly related to the CNSO production period, but without confirmed builder attribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
